The Art of Coarse Acting: Part Deux! - 14th to 16th June at Over Community Centre
The show is a side-splitting collection of three short comedy plays, two of which are from the 'Coarse Acting' series of plays written by Michael Green, plus a third, written especially for The Over Players several years ago by John Lamoon. All are designed to portray the am-dram 'try hard but never quite succeed' situation where things never quite go to plan and the set may well fall down! If you have ever seen 'The Play That Goes Wrong' you will enjoy The Art of Coarse Acting. There is 'Streuth ", a whodunit parodying the classic 1970 play 'Sleuth' by Anthony Shaffer. Expect stereotypical characters from detective dramas of all kinds! 'Il Fornicazione' is a classic Opera piece in one act, however due to a severe road accident near a river, the entire orchestra, other than the fourth triangle player, are absent. But the show must go on . . . . even if that means unaccompanied! Rounding the show off is the classic tale of romance, 'Fenside Story', which is a parody of a classic musical with a similar title, but set in the Fens of Chatteris! The show will include snippets of musical performance and to close the show there will be a special dance performance so amazingly good we cannot even let the general public know! So get those tickets booked for a great evening of comedy and laughter! |
